Is there a reason why you have to drill though the middle of a tile?  It would be much easier to drill through a grout joint.

You could get an estimate from a professional to repair it.  If the mover or insurer pays full replacement value, they will own the damaged piece.  They may or may not bother to take it.

How about drilling #1&2 all the way through to the inside of the wall in the closet, and then use 6" bolts fastened on the back side with nuts and fender washers.

I had that saw and hated it.  Ended up dumping it (at a garage sale, I think) and buying a Bosch 1591...have been a happy jigsawer ever since.  Moral:  move on.

The "new" Delta still makes the 14-651.  You might look at the diagram on their parts site on Deltamachinery.com to see if that part is similar and available.
