Those spouts slip over a stub out from the wall. You should be able to either: unscrew it by twisting ccw or by removing a set screw. You shouldn’t have to go through the wall to replace that spout.

Done a lot of natural edge bowls from honey locust, it is really hard stuff but takes a nice finish. Good job keeping the bark attached
