2nd shellac coat was rubbed out with 0000 steel wool and wiped down..
1 st coat of "Warm Gloss" Poly has been brushed on...waiting to see how it turns out..
Use? Maybe a smaller plant stand/tab... |

I do not line the jaws..however IF you want...use a length of Rubber Air Hose...Make a slit, and slide the hose on to the jaws...
However...THIS came home today...for a $5 bill..

1st coat of Amber Shellac..PIP..No.1
PIP #2..
Needs a rub down with 0000 steel wool and a second coat..
PIP #3...and yes I did shellac the drawer..
At least one more coat of shellac, then ... |

Have always done that to the drawers I build....it is a way to help start a full drawer into it's opening....when you can't see where the bottom corners are hitting.

Grooves for the drawer bottom have been ploughed..
1/4" x 1/4"...front and both sides...
dados were milled...
The 71-1/2 was to level the dado's bottom..
Dry fit to get the drawer back ... |

Whatever...
back to work...this morning..
BEFORE any more glue-ups...things like this had to be fixed...and some of the tenons needed pared a bit smoother..Then clamps and glue..

Maybe for the wider table tops some build....this is 4 pieces...5" wide...very little movement happens.
Ash just doesn't seem to "move" like some woods.....boards have been air-dried for almost 10 ... |

Chopping took 3 trips..

Clamps and caul came off the panel...spent a while leveling glue joints....
Between the 60 grit beltsander and this No. 6c plane....soon had things flat...mainly dried glue sticking up...and a coup... |
