Check the set screw on the motor pulley. If the screw is loose, the key will still hold it, but the play will cause that.

1. Forget steel burnishers, screwdrivers/drills etc. Use carbide burnishers either from Lee Valley, or make one yourself out of Dremel carbide bit.[br][br]2. You can refresh the burr quite a few times...
