Appreciate the humor and the tip. Whe. You dip the chisels do you just wipe it he back over quickly or do you plunge the chisel into it (like some Japanese woodworkers do)?

Another 'no' for urethane mallets. I had one and didn't like it. Also, another recommendation for the blue spruce one (the regular mallet as well as the round one).

The Lie Nielsen one is awesome. The square shaft prevents lateral movement of the blade.

When I built my bench I wanted to see if I would miss having an end vise, and I don't. For the times I really need something like a wagon vise a wonder dog works great.

I agree with you (I realize his skill level is above mine, but that doesn't mean he's above reproach). I thought it was almost common knowledge that a sharper edge lasted longer.

my scientific answer: I just liked how they would work compared to handles. I have the benchcrafted leg vise kit and the wheel way just grew on me.

For mine, I wanted 24" between screws because I figured that would be the widest thing I would dovetail. Edit:duh width. I just did 4" width hard maple since it's what I had on hand.

Highland sold them until the pandemic. The reason woodcraft does not sell them is complicated. Hopefully they can catch up enough to offer them through resellers again.
