I think I would be tempted to try a cap on the cracked end. If the tee is cracked, flood it with primer then glue? Worst thing that can happen is you wasted 15 minutes

You are right, if I seal any of the board I need to seal all of it. When I do my samples how soon will I know if the knots are going to bleed thru? Will they darken with time? Or will they show thru...

Thanks Snipe. This run will be less than 10 feet-out the back of a stack unit, straight up to the roof. There really is no practical way to go thru the wall. I did google and found the metal roof...

I can buy cabin grade 1 x 8 for about half the price of the thin stuff at HD. This comes in random 8, 10, 12 and 16 foot lengths. This is the same stuff we used on the job 5 years ago. Minimal waste....
