I think as long as you have one other tub in the house, the master bedroom does not need one.
The main reason to have a tub is if the buyer has small children.

You will be fine. 6/4 hardwoood can support a long span. Think of all the long thick table tops that have a span longer than 4 feet. |

When you first asked the question, I assumed you meant something maybe 32" or 48" wide.. that could be unscrewed from the wall and moved if the carpet needed replaced.... |
