This isn't stropping in the traditional sense. You've just manufactured your own fine(est) honing stone in your line up. If you're using glass, you might as well move up to the finest abrasives ...

Don't do the flood coat cha-cha-cha in heat and humidity.  Just pad on a very thin application, let it sit 30 minutes, and buff off.  Forget using any kind of brush.  Two applications a day over a cou...

If the depth adjuster knob is hard to turn, your lever cap pressure is too high.
