I find it helpful to have duplicates and spares of the ones I use most. They seem to me to get really dull at the worst times, and having a backup is useful.

I've never used Watco, but it's described as an oil/varnish mix. The warmness you found was the drying oil component (linseed oil I would guess) oxidizing...just the curing process.What you might try ...

I really like that, we have quite a few Coke logo things around the house. I would have trouble finding bottle caps though. I have seen bottled Coke around here for some time.
