I quit using that system, to messy for me. I now use the DeVilbiss bag system. I use 1 quart Zip-Lock freezer bags with it. they collapse much better and it's much cheaper too.

I never let my glue ups stay clamped for more than 30 to 60 minutes. But I do let them dry a few days before finish sanding because if any  moisture is in the wood from the glue and you sand joints ...

I personally love sanding sealer, It's much cheaper than my final finish so it saves money. It's also much easier to sand and doesn't gum up the sandpaper like the final finish. And it cures faste...

I have used auto clear with great success but I find it a lot easier to use conversion varnish which is much faster and easier to work with.
