Post: RE: Hickory Trestle Table
I used 1/8" cherry veneer on my speaker boxes. The boxes were made with 1" high-density particle board, and I used contact cement as the adhesive; even then there has been some splitting over the ye... |

I've had luck shoving a stiff wire back through the drain valve into the tank. Some of the accumulated scale came free, and increased the flow rate. Definitely open the pressure release valve, or ta... |

Thread: Mounting Mantel Board on Fireplace Surround
Post: RE: Mounting Mantel Board on Fireplace Surround
How about sliding dovetails. I would probably do 2, fairly wide (at least 1") dovetails, one up each leg of the mantel. I wouldn't use one continuous dovetail strip, I have tried them and they are t... |

I see a number of shows, including Stone House Revival, where drill holes in the back-side of the mantel and slide it onto headless lag screws. I believe they use some sort of adhesive to hold the ma... |

If it was me, I'd cut out the drywall, drill the studs, install 1/4" backer board and then the tile. If the tile is going wall-to-wall, I would cut out a strip of drywall, drill, wire, put back a str... |

I think that you will get a better edge with a router. I would start with a rabbet bit, ake a couple passes with that, then switch to a template bit to complete. Trim the corners with a chisel. |

If you want to do beaded face frames, Kreg makes an excellent system. The setup has to be precise, but when you get it dialed in, the results are amazing. |

Thread: Replacing a Unisaw with a SawStop?

I replaced my General 350 with a SS, solely for safety reasons. I am well into retirement and there are some days when I am just not as sharp anymore, I like having an additional level of safety. |
