thanks ken, I should have enuff room to get a file up there and see if I can file a flat spot on the spline for the set screw. If I can find room for a drill, I'll try to make the dimple first.

Googling says that the interconnect wire is usually red but sometimes yellow, but I'd like to hear from Smart People here please. :)

Thanks all - checked for splash back, didn't find any. Splashed water all over the shower - no leak. Only when someone is *in* the shower. So I think those that said the pan is flexing are right.
