EdLIF you can get it, I would use Deft lacquer and brush it on, its self leveleing.

If it helps... the newer GE appliances (made by Haier) are much better than the older ones made by GE. I put GE Profile in the new kitchen.. 3 years ago? No issues except a faulty fan in the fridge...... |

Looks like the screws screwed into extruded slots but galvanic corrosion between the steel screws and aluminum cross bar turned those screw slots into aluminum oxide (dust).
