  0 Thread: Boiler question
Post: RE: Boiler question

The relief valve is doing what it is supposed to do. Open and release any system pressure above 30 psi. Close any valves on the city water feed line. A leaking (through, not out) pressure reducing val...

Maybe. That’s a reading that I could duplicate just by being impatient and not allowing the system to equalize pressure between cycles. Tossing that number out without context is meaningless. Honestly...

Post: RE: HVAC hard start

Most compressors in residential HVAC units are PSC, permanent split capacitor, motors. They essentially only have a run capacitor and are low start torque motors. Hence the high inrush current on star...

Post: RE: HVAC hard start

A hard start is essentially a big start capacitor and a relay to drop it out of circuit. It will increase the torque to get the compressor turning. They do solve a few issues and can extend the life o...

Options with your existing, no. More modern, kind of, depending. The other stuff about DC and made to run on generators and batteries is drivel.

First half of that is somewhere between sort of right and complete bull. Glad he sorted the aux heat problem.   You know the answer is a bigger gen set.

Blowing air back through the drain may clear the drain depending on the blockage. Chip scale will clear. Solid calcification won’t. It’s worth a try.

Are both heat pumps on the generator?  If so, are they trying to start simultaneously on the generator?  If yes, a 5 minute time delay on power up timer would correct that problem.

Maybe 1 1/2 oz and let the inverter and receiver manage any difference.  At that percent of total charge it’s not critical.

Not sure what you are looking for?  Does your job require a 6,9 and 12 k heads?  Make sure you land the different size heads on the correct outlets at the condenser. IIRC, the 12k heads can only go on...
