Thread: Johnson Paste Wax
Post: RE: Johnson Paste Wax
Don't mind at all. In fact, I am kind of grateful for the opportunity to see if this is normal since I can't pick this stuff up locally and am stuck buying it online. So I'd be very happy with any t... |

Post: RE: Johnson Paste Wax
I bought the Lundmark off of Amazon after so many people raved about it, but I have been disappointed. I wonder if I got a really old can, as all the Carnuba beads or whatever seem to have extracted t... |

Thread: What do yall think about that Rip-it?
Post: RE: What do yall think about that Rip-it?
I have had a Wixey on my Sawstop for about 4 years now, and I'd never go back. So much less anxiety about having to go back to a specific measurement later in a project. |

Thread: Educate me- CA adhesive and activator
Post: RE: Educate me- CA adhesive and activator
The other downside of CA glue is that while it is very strong, it is also brittle, and can be weak in shear depending on the material. I use it for quick clamping purposes all the time, but I go with... |

Thread: Wood Insert for Hardwood
Post: RE: Wood Insert for Hardwood
I have had some luck with waxing the insert threads for hardwood. There is an argument that anything making them easier to screw in would also make them easier to back out. But in practice, I haven't ... |

I use the Lie Nielsen on my Shapton stones, mostly because that is what the guy who taught me how to sharpen effectively used. Works well. I have a few chisels with skews that aren't quite the same as... |

Thread: Miter saw blade
Post: RE: Miter saw blade
The Kapex has excellent dust collection for a miter saw. It is not magic. But it is better at dust collection than any other compound miter I've used.
Frankly, the combination of cheapest and bes... |

Thread: Saw Blade Sharpening Service
Post: RE: Saw Blade Sharpening Service
'Booked up' being the forum software replacement for what I thought would surely be a safer euphemism than what I first intended. Also, somehow it became 'rebranding' rather than re--surfacing. |

Thread: My newest set of chisels

I have been using the infamous Aldi chisels, which I heard about on Woodnet, since 2015. And I unabashedly love them. Kept sharp, they do the job I need every time, and they are cheap enough that I ... |

Thread: Festool Kapex or Makita LS1019L?
Post: RE: Festool Kapex or Makita LS1019L?
The Kapex is about as accurate as a compound miter is going to get. The lockup mechanism is tight at the detents and has no play I can detect, and the friction lock-up at the non-detent positions is ... |

I am also a breaker-downer of sheet goods on a sheet of foam insulation over some saw horses. I have a knock-down cutting station dedicated to that purpose.
