Performax (SUPER MAX ) 25'' single drum sander w/ in feed and out feed rollers. Leeson 5hp motor - from back when they put real motors on them. 220 v single phase on drum head - 110 on conveyor motor....

Doesn't really matter what it's on. The saw isn't the problem, the switch is.Have you blown everything out with air and looked things over real close?That's one reason I like the old motor starters a...

The pics help a lot.That IS a mag switch so the one I linked to above is not the same thing. You could use the one I linked to, but you wont have the overload protection. Grizzly and a few others do...

Here is a pic of an LVC. (next to the pushbutton switch) Does your saw have one of these?And yes, what JGrout said...a pic of the entire box/switch.

Stop.Does your switch have pushbuttons or is it a rocker?Do the buttons stay in or does the rocker stay put when you push or flip? Do you have a smaller electrical enclosure that the switch and power...

This swich should be fine for most equipment...low or high voltage. That doesn't look like a mag switch to me. Does your uni have an LVC? Is the switch you have a momentary or maintained switch?
