Well it may be me; but a lot of folks seam to have problems. It does brush OK, but wipes far easier and sprays easiest of all. I hate to see folks shy away from a very useful family of finishes.

I am a non-fan of filler. Iike wood that looks like wood. Crystalac does; but it's expensive and a PITA.

I agree but there are many loose tennon systems and methods out there as for Dominoes probably due to the resemblance. So long as capitalization consistent there is no problem.

Unfortunately that test was nvalid. Moden gluees as used are much stronger than the wod so what was measured was the glued area of the wood. Unless you are into timber construction the question is ...

basically +! for John. I like to use shellac (I like the red of Thai seed on oak) . Use a 1# cut coat and 1 to 3 coats. If the color isn't right add transtint. Shellac wipes a sprays very easily...

+1 for the domino. More flexible and usable by far then the regular mortisers. Try puting mortises in a 4x5' panel or at compound angles. If you want an occasional M&T then by all means get...

It depends! If you aare going to do large mortises then jus a chisel and saw, If general furniture construction mortises then the DOMINO (by far the best general choice). If best flexibility then ...

I use a Griot's 6" polisher and Griot's Garage Machine Polish 4–6 depending. Can be messy. Sand shellac @ 400 grit by hand with the grain.

80° F is a.as high as any waterborne recommends application and is likely near the storage limit. So that may be an issue.

TruOil Birchwood Casey developed as a gun stock finish but it;s great on any wood that is curved and takes some wear. Just don't get acetone or MS on it.

Id do the whole thing in black shellac. This is waxy so test for adhesion with GF Enduro Conversion Varnish its spray only and you need to really mix the catalyst well.. as a topcoat for the head...

I have Mack Brush 9-SET at least I think that they are around somewhere. I spray shellac and waterborne and ammonia works great for those—no brush needed.

Most sodas have phosphoric acid as it helps retail the carbonation. You can buy Phosphoric Acid rust remover cheaply. or you could just try some soda water.
