"Kentucky Chrome" ; Cold Weld on a Hot Day

Some skilled-trade guys at work used to refer to duct-tape as "Kentucky Chrome"...

In that spirit, here is a J-B Weld repair of a casting that has been overly "stress-relieved" (cracked).   I chain-drilled 2 slots, and epoxied-in 2 pieces of aluminum for strength.  It seems like it's going to be a workable repair for my "ugly tools" department:
