I just got a message from Japan Woodworker. They have a two day sale for a Mujingfang 6.5" polishing plane. This plane is also available at Woodcraft for the same $39.99. The blade is set up at a 63* angle which they say is well suited for hard nasty grain. Surely, someone here has used Mujingfang planes and can offer an informative review of this product. Thanks.

Excellent planes: essentially, similar to but cheaper than the HNT Gordon planes.
They can compare well with the best smoothers, regardless of price. This plane features in the classic article by Lynn Mangiameli:

Woodcraft owns Japan Woodworker, hence the same sale price. Woodcraft charges less for shipping than Japan Woodworker.
Still Learning,
