Repairing bandsaw blades

Our bandsaw at work has a built in welder.  I'm sure it gets welded and not brazed.

The "welding" devices attached to bandsaws are called Annealers and they anneal the metal

Also why application of just heat, as in welding, or brazing often leads to failure. The metal is too brittle after the process. Putting the material a bandsaw blade is made from together at what is called the weld, is truly an art form. Also why I don't buy blades sent out on a blister pack, don't care who the maker is.

They are mass produced to increase production, and slapped on those display cards in numbers that would boggle your mind. The guy making the welds is ALWAYS the low guy on the totem pole, and that job has a turn over rate higher than the widow dood from Florida, working in a McD's drive through window in Duluth in January. He may have his mind and spirit totally invested in that job, yet he lacks the experience to actually do it worth a hoot.
