For spraying latex paint? Rockler’s $75 version comes with a 1.4 tip
I have a cheap gun that has worked in the past, but I had to thin the paint.
What size tip should I be looking for?
I have a bed headboard and footboard to paint and want a nice finish

A gravity feed HVLP conversion gun with a 1.4 mm N/N is limited to a viscosity of about 45 seconds through a Ford #4 cup. Anything higher than that needs to be thinned to get it down at least that low. With a 1.8 mm N/N you can go up to around 65 seconds, and maybe close to 100 seconds with a 2.0 or 2.2 mm. FYI, GF's Enduro White Poly is about 100 seconds, SW's ProClassic and BM's Advance are both around 500 seconds. I wouldn't try spraying either of those with a gravity feed gun.
