Grain filler
#2
The on going love/hate relationship with a table top has taken me to rubbing out the finish. I was surprised how easy that process is. The problems I had were rubbing through in some places and dried swarth in some joints. Places like a veneer joint where the joint looks tight but there is just enough gap to allow a shallow dip in the finish. I have tried gently scraping out the material but that leaves a scratched surface in that groove. I am thinking about just striping the the table and starting over. Will something like a clear grain filler help level something like that out so stuff doesn't get stuck in there when wet sanding?
