I know, no pics....
My daughter had a birthday party at a recycle/reuse place yesterday. I was wandering and found their wood section. I didn't have time to pick through all of it, but managed to snag a 7x7 8/4 block of what I think is maple, a 12x12 8/4 block of walnut and a 2"x2"x~30" block of walnut. 12 bucks for all of it. I'll be going back for more when I have more time. They also have some thinner stock that would be great for laminations and segmenting.

Congrats and Load up while you can since we can not ever have enough wood in the pile.

Nice find. Was this reclaimed from a building demo or remodel? I may have to check our salvage place if that's the case.

I don't think so. It looked like offcuts from somewhere or blocks you could find at a woodworking store. The large blocks aren't surfaced. The thinner stuff is odd shapes and sizes and is most likely waste from some manufacturing or something.

Nice find!
I would check it with a metal detector to be safe
