Good idea putting the rails on the inside of the uprights, where they don't just have fasteners to keep them attached when bumped. Neighbor put in a fence for his horses with the rails screwed outside the posts. Guess what happened first time they leaned against....
Better to follow the leader than the pack. Less to step in.
