It's the same finish on the cherry and the maple. Put more coats on the maple as I had some shiny / dull spots. But knocked it back with the wax (I apply the wax with 0000 steel wool).

Excellent work! The figuring in the wood is marvelous, and the design is stunning. The floating top is a very nice touch. Great job.

Very attractive piece. I'd never have the guts to add dye or stain to material with that kind of figure.
