I put down vinyl plank in our upstairs bath 2 days ago. It looks great. I would take the supervisor shopping to look at vinyl flooring. Some of it unless you touch it you don't know it's not wood (or tile). A friend has vinyl plank in his basement, and it has survived at least 3 floods. He finally got everything regraded to resolve a lot of the water issues, but he swears by it.

Our vinyl plank I put down 3? years ago, looks and feels like real wood.
It is a floating floor. Only place water can get under is around the edges.
