Would you consider this dangerous?

Reminds me of the saw that Johnny Cash's brother was using in the movie "Walk The Line." I cringe just thinking about an adult using a saw like that, let alone a kid.

At any rate, I don't care how skilled you are in using a saw like that, it is HIGHLY dangerous.

That sure does look dangerous. However, that man, Mimmo, is pretty well known. I'm a pipe guy, and Mimmo is generally regarded as the finest briar cutter and supplier in the world. He is also a fine pipe maker, whose pipes sell quickly in the four figure range.

I hadn't seen this before. The original guy was crazy, this is beyond crazy. The Human condition isn't made to be that on, for a workday length of time. Any accident is just a moments distraction, and then you are talking just one blade, adding the second blade to the mix is just nutz. This entire process could easily be automated. It's hard to believe this is in America. I wonder if OSHA doesn't follow Rowe around citing all these crazy places he films at. It should be called CRAZY JOBS, instead of Dirty Jobs.

No I wouldn't consider it no more dangerous than cutting it on a band saw.

If that little voice in your head is telling you it's too dangerous then you shouldn't do it. The ones that are the most likely to get hurt are the ones that don't listen to that voice.

Just this happened to me yesterday making 40+ nailing blocks for crown, that little voice said no, so I figured out another way to make the blocks.
