What would these be used for? Huge tenons? Giant miter box? Found them in the storage closet in the middle school woodshop.
Never seen them this big before.

Yes, they are mitre box saws. The top one looks pretty nice.

It is a Stanley made by Disston.
Did they make a larger miter box to go with these or do they fit a standard size?

It could be for one of these beasts -- a Stanley No 460 mitre box. It was the biggest they made.
