So what kind of rivets do you use and where do you buy them?

Check at your local hardware store. Mine has copper and brass. The copper ones are technically "roves," used in wooden boatbuilding.

McMaster first and then go from there.

I recently restored an antique cedar chest and needed copper tacks. I was unable to find any locally.
