The iPhone cutlist app KerfMaker version 1.1.0 is now available, featuring a much faster algorithm for placing parts in boards. The new version is free as an upgrade or is $2.99 for new purchasers at the Apple app store. You can learn more about it at the KerfMaker website.
As examples of the speed now: on an iPhone 6 it's able to place 500 parts in 100 boards in less than a second; it's able to place 5000 parts in 110 boards in less than 3 seconds. (Your mileage may vary depending on your phone and details of the project, but this should be representative.)
