In my more than 12 years of looking for tools, this one ranks at the top - a Stanley #7 with all the characteristics of a Type 16.

The grind on the blade appears to be original. I took the frog out, carefully, to brush out the dust, then wiped it down with lightweight oil to highlight the japanning, which is as close to 100% as I've ever seen. Only a few small scuff marks on the knob and tot mar this tool - it's that good.
