Bosch 1617 Bearing Retainer Nut Removal

Trying to replace the motor housing on a Bosch 1617 and having a problem removing the thin nut that holds the bottom bearing in place and is threaded to the shaft.  The nut has two flats (24 mm) and the collet wrench is perfect but it is so close to the flat on the shaft which needs to be held while the retainer nut is loosened I can't get both wrenches in the space. 

I also read that the nut has a left handed thread.  Can someone confirm that?  

Any advice would be appreciated.  All the other disassembly is simple.

Is there any way you can utilize an impact wrench?.Sudden impact will make it much easier to remove even if you cannot hold the shaft from turning.

Not the same model of Bosch router but these two videos show how to remove the nut. In both videos a standard screwdriver was jammed between the side of the nut and the housing, and then the housing was turned to loosen the nut. This might work on your 1617.
