what finish for kitchen cabinet shelves?

I’ve been using Verathane’s “triple thick” for drawers. They claim one coat coverage and for drawers I’ve found that accurate. It levels pretty well with almost no drips. I have not done any wear tests on it, but the drawer I replaced in the bathroom has been in service for three years and still looks good. No residual odor right from the beginning. The residual odor was why I abandoned oil based for drawers.

that's the one thing I learned from Krenov, no oil finishes inside a cabinet.  My MIL had some furniture refinished and it smelled like rancid oil for years.  Fortunately that wasn't forced on us when she was in her downsizing mode.

Project might have to wait until next week, still haven't moved all the lathes
