Wood identification help

The building is 30 years old but the previous tenant did the remodel about 6-7 years ago.

This was the largest piece I acquired...it was at their front entry desk.  10' long and 40" tall. 

i was honestly expecting to hear the building is 90+ years old! i didnt know there were still people that used something other than oak in commercial buildings.

My vote goes for sapele.  It's much harder than African Mahogany (sapele = 1410 Janka whereas Khaya is 1070 Janka).  Both are very similar in appearance.

As long as you're counting the Khaya sp. as mahogany, I'll go.  But, like American cedars, which ain't, real mahogany it ain't.

I suck at these wood identification posts and usually don't even comment but it looked like some "supposed" African Mahogany I had once so I took a shot.

Beautiful find, congratulations .IMO, that's some nice ribbon stripe Mahogany . In that the wood is 30 years old, I'm not ruling out M. Swietenia, but I wouldn't bet the house on it.
