Yes I am also considering that and will build up a supply of 2-3 years of filters and keep them rotated because they do have a shelf life. I've done that before at my old house without issues.
I found one that lasts for one million gallons or ten years, but it's pricey and it kinda gives me the ickies thinking about drinking that water after a few years of filtering.
