Killed the 3rd (fast) speed setting on in my lxt makita hammer drill. When drilling the clutch kicks in no matter what. Is this a DIY replaceable project? Anyone done something like this? Second and first speeds work fine.
Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

Call a Makita service center. I have found them very helpful in the past. If you can talk with a tech you may get exactly what you need.

Out of warranty. Looks like a i need a Gear Assembly. Found a youytube video on how to change it out too.
