Which did most of the work? The mayo or the post cleaning?

Hard to say. I had my daughter do all the work. Also, the complicating factor was that during the overnight mayonaise soak, the dog got into the garage and did a fairly thorough job of 'cleaning' the mayonnaise off.
Who knows? Maybe dog snobber is the secret ingredient! In any case, the chair is now clean and solid.
