I’m having some issues with the three phase motor and VFD on my little bandsaw. I’m going to just buy a new single phase motor and do away with the VFD. I just need to find out what the RPM on the stock motor is.

I have a Laguna 14" saw but I'm not sure of the model # I'll check tomorrow for both. Mine is a 220 volt motor.

Thanks Jim. I'm guessing it s 1800 but I want to make sure before I drop the cash on a new motor. I have been using a three phase motor and a VFD. On some machines a VFD is great. On my bandsaw it has been a problem since I installed it.

I have the SE14 model saw. The motor is 3450 RPM driving a 2 1/2" pulley. Hope that helps.

Thanks Jim, here is a curious fact for you. I have one of the old Italian made LT14SE saws which is what it sounds like you have. The old 14SE has a 3450 RPM motor. The new 12/14 which looks like basically the same exact saw comes with a 1720 RPM motor. I'm wondering what the difference is in the saws. Different pulley sizes I would guess but I wonder why the change.
