What I find funny is its a two by four. Not two inch by four inch.
Its like calling a tissue a kleenex.....when its not made by kleenex. You ask someone for a kleenex, and they know what you mean.
To me the nominal size for softwoods is just that, a name. Not literal. People need to get over it. Really.
