Paddle Cleaner for DC Filter
#5
A while ago I replaced the bag on my collector with a Wynn filter. I'd like to add a paddle cleaner to it as well. Everything seems pretty straight forward to make it with copper pipe, but I have a couple of questions for anyone who has done something similar.

1. How did you seal the area where the pipe goes through the top?

2. What did you use for material for the paddle itself.

3. How far past the inner edge of the filter do you set the paddles?

Innerweb searches showing a lot of people using aluminum bar stock for the paddles. I would think this would tear up the filter.

Why not use a blow gun on a compressor occasionally from a distance?

Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.

Wynn cautions against using paddles and recommends using air for cleaning filters.

I guess I'll just stick to the air gun.
