One of the feed rollers has a bent shaft and one of the drive shafts has sheared off. Does anyone have one of these that they would be willing to sell for parts? The advice about Western Roller is right on about re-covering the roller shafts. A friend had one in his professional shop for 20 years and on several occasions I had to work on the shaft ends where they got wallowed on the sprockets. For production use or for a place being used by inexperienced users, that make/model is a little light and the kind of damages described is no big surprise.
A comparison between the Makita 15-3/4" planer (2040) and a Powermatic 18" planer.
The universal motor is under the base, A very efficient and clever design for space saving.
