Hi there- if you dare about my input. I use DMT products only. They are monocrystallines and that makes a big difference. Why? because a poly-C plate will lose its bite after flattening the first plane iron back. Mono-crys- as sold by DMT retains its bite better. None of the diamond plates retain their original "bite." If you know this, you then can accurately choose the grit to buy. I have all of DMT's "stones/plates" and I learned to be realistic about break in.
