When reviewing these pics prior to adding them to a blog post it occurred to me that these scratch awls looked like lollipops in a candy store. These scratch awls have a unique feature in that the blade can be removed for re-grinding/sharpening.

Beautiful work as usual, Ron...I do love the Desert Ironwood!!!!!!!! And I don't know of another scribe that features a removable blade...making it easy to keep a good, sharp grind..
Hope you and your bride as doing well...

Those are wonderful, Ron! And, yes they are lollypops in a candy store, for this kid, at least -but I have one of my own. :>) Nice work.

Super pretty!
And my finest plane knob was Desert Ironwood, a few years back. But that wood sure doesn't smell like a lollipop when you're turning it!

Mine came while I was gone. It is very nice. I have other awls, but this one now moves to the front of the line.
Thanks Ron!
...Naval Aviators, that had balz made of brass and the size of bowling balls, getting shot off the deck at night, in heavy seas, hoping that when they leave the deck that the ship is pointed towards the sky and not the water.
