Who sells quality brass chain stops for small (desktop) box tops? I forget what they are actually called.
Thanks.

Brusso...is that who you are looking for? Not sure about "chain stop", but they do sell stop hinges.

thanks. LV is a go to place for me. I assume these things vary in quality, and I am wondering who has a reputation for good ones.

I bought a length of chain from McMaster-Carr to hold the lid of a tool chest, following
a reference from the LAP blog.

Google search "brass chain lid stay (or support)". Here is one:

Depends on the size you need. I bought my brass chain at the hardware store. Used in toilets.

IMO the best quality would have welded links..not the twist type...but you may also want to consider another type of lid support like this one on Amazon
