Timbermate is great stuff. Hole filler, grain filler, it has many uses. Plus, you can change the color by adding Transtint dye to it. So if the color you want isn't available, you can either mix two or Timbermate colors or you can start with a lighter one and adjust it with Transtint. And, as others have said, it never goes bad. If it dries out rock hard, just add some water and wait, and it will reconstitute as good as new.
One tip. Do not use metal tools with Timbermate. It will get a black stain in the can. The stain doesn't extend beyond what the metal touched, but if you use plastic tooling the problem is avoided altogether.

I didn’t realize it was compatible with Transtint, Thanks for the tip John.

I've added water to my container a drop at a time before it hardens and it stays workable. Comes in a wide variety of woods. Can be mixed with dyes if needed. Highly recommend. Goodfilla Home
Used timbermate for years, but it was hard to source in the quarts during covid (it comes from Australia) and lucky I found Goodfilla in 2019, and was a blessing as it was easy to source as its made stateside. Its good stuff. Its amazing just a stir and it seems to thin up nicely. Plus its cheaper than timbermate at like $45/gal, and takes stain beautifuly. Just make sure to get the "trowl ready" formula....the other stuff is very firm.
Once Favre hangs it up though, it years of cellar dwelling for the Pack. (Geoff 12-18-07)
