winter protection for bushes - what hinges for "teepees"
#5
A few of our foundation bushes really got beat up last winter but they bounced back this spring. Want to be better prepared this winter.

Used some scrap plywood sheets to make two-sided "teepees" but I'm not finding the right strap hinges that will allow me to fold the two sides flat for off-season storage.

I have an old leather belt that I could cut up to make hinges but I'm hoping there's a better "mousetrap."

Help???

TIA

I would make on side narrower, and use carriage bolts as the hinge.

Door hinges will work just fine.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
