Exterior Cedar finish?
#7
I'm looking for an exterior cedar finish for some chairs.  I'd really like one as clear as possible.  The last one I used really left a yellowish tone to the chairs

any suggestions?

Behlen makes a Water-white Restoration Varnish, which is a spar varnish. You might want to thin the first couple coats to soak into and protect the soft cedar.

water based sealers seem to leave a clearer finish that solvent based...

General Finishes Exterior 450 is pretty clear and won't yellow.

Thank you.. I didn't even look at water based finishes.

That Behlen is hard to find.. I think I'll try one of the water based ones
