Curly Maple Source?
#9
Hi all,

Anyone know of a good place that has a good selection of curly maple 4/4 near the Savannah area. The only place I know is Case Woodworking supply. I'm willing to travel a few hours if needed. I was up in Hickory NC a month ago at West Penn hardwood and they did not have a great selection. I'm looking for 9 to 10" wide boards 10 ft long. I need 3 of them.

Thanks

Mike

You might have to travel up to Mableton to Atlanta Hardwoods or down to Jacksonville, FL

There are several options:
https://www.peachstatelumber.com/lumber
and
Atlanta Hardwood in Mableton, GA

I’ve heard of these guys in Jax but never used:
https://www.hooddistribution.com/product...-overview/

There’s this:
http://www.curlymaple.com/
And, of course:
https://www.cookwoods.com/

Cook is renowned for their timbers

Before you drive anywhere call around; you might find shipping from Cook or Curly is less expensive than driving and a better result.

Gary,

Thanks for the info. Even though I'm retired  a drive to Oregon is not going to happen. LOL. I like seeing what I'm buying. The other place in PA is not far from where I lived so it will be on my list when I go back home to visit family. The one in Jax is a 2 hour drive and Atlanta is about 4. I will call both to see what they stock.

I went to the Mableton store many years ago; it was like being in a candy shop.
