I haven't seen those things on a car in ages.  Not sure you can buy them new anymore.  Maybe a junk yard if you are open to recycled parts.  Otherwise, could a narrow detail broom do it for you as a sub?

I'd probably start with something called conveyor brush. It's hit & miss at Amazon, but McMaster has plenty of it.

May not be an exact replacement, but it's pretty close.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't find quite what I need, but at least now I know what I am looking for.

How big are you looking for? These are available for routing cables out of a wall to a device, not sure if it would do you any good...just showing a possibility.

I have used the brush in an aluminum extrusion sold for weather-stripping the bottom of doors for keeping metal chips out of a DRO on a metal mill. I shortened the brush length a little and it is working great after a number of years. The brush part of the strip is the bristles held together with a very small metal strip that then slides into the extrusion. You may be able to use this brush part without the rest of the extrusion by glueing it into a kerf in the wood..
Proud maker of large quantities of sawdust......oh, and the occasional project!

Do a Google search for "linear brush" or "vacuum brush". Youll come up with a number of different configurations and options. I think you can order from Amazon.

I ended up making my own. Just some strips of aluminum coil stock, bent over the fuzzy half of a velcro strip. Doesn't have bristles like a broom, but it'll work.
