Stomp Fiddle

I have been tasked to build a Stomp Fiddle for a niece.

These are basically a wood shaft with various noise makers attached. I have a piece of rived red oak that I plan to shave down for the shaft. Some of the noise makers I am planing on attaching include:
Cow bell
Tamborine
Brass Bell
Small bulb horn
Pie Pan
and possibly other noise makers

Anyone here have experience with one of these things? I never heard of one until my sister asked me to build one.

These ain't a Stradivarius. I think pretty much anything goes. Google images gives a bunch of examples. This one had several-



Some jingle bells and a scrub board would be good additions. Seems most are just odds and ends screwed on to a staff, but some are a little more artistic and may appeal more to the player and the builder -

Yup! This is more stomp and not so much fiddle. More of a percussion instrument than one from the string section. Hope your musician isn't shy and takes more after Spike Jones than Vivaldi.

Hobo 10 piece band is what i had heard these called. I don't know if there are rules, but if she suggested certain pieces she probably has seen one she liked, and wants to reproduce. I like the ones with strings, played by the combo bow, drumstick
